TITLE: Monaro Country

PHOTOGRAPHER: Nick Bowers

This series of pictures are from an ongoing project started in 2007.

The Monaro, located in the south eastern corner of New South Wales is one of the coldest regions in Australia. It reaches to the foothills of the Snowy Mountains on the southern side. On the eastern side it stretches almost to the coast.

The Harshness of the Monaro winters are matched by the scorching dry heat of the summers. Creating a burnt landscape strewn with granite boulders and buckled man made objects having succumb to the brutal change in temperatures.
