This short piece was inspired by Alexandrena's father's obsession with his racing pigeons. He started racing homing pigeons as a child and continued the hobby throughout his adult life. There is a great deal of mystery surrounding the ‘homing pigeon’ and how they actually find their way back home. Whilst there are many theories, no one actually knows. Her father spends most of the winter months driving his pigeons to remote locations, thousands of kilometers away only for them to return home within 24 hours of their departure.
