There is something refreshing about shooting a simple portrait in natural daylight. The camera, a 50mm lens and your subject. Back to basics. Like any fruitful endeavour, there is a certain risk in shooting portrait photography. It requires both parties to sit out on a limb and be a little vulnerable.

I have always found Noah fascinating as an artist and as a photographic subject. To shoot this portrait, I visited Noah's latest art show and set up a black background by the window when the gallery closed. I selected a couple of photographs in which Noah wasn't looking to camera and felt a little more candid.
