Juli Balla’s personal series was inspired by the street photography of the 1950s – 1970s. Each image evokes the mood of a film still with emotionally charged characters in discreet storylines. With genuine pieces sourced and styled by Janai Anselmi, the series is an authentic recreation of the 50s-70s. Selected works are featured in the Australian and International Contemporary Photography exhibition at Olsen Irwin and the series has been earmarked for a solo exhibition at the end of the year.
